Browsing Time Limit Settings

Specify how long you want your visitors to be able to use the kiosk. This feature is ideal for high-traffic areas where you may want to limit each visitor's time at the kiosk.

Browsing Time Limit

Supported in:

Kiosk Pro Lite, Basic, Plus and Enterprise

The Browsing Time Limit timer starts when a visitor first touches the screen.

If the visitor continues interacting with the screen for the full duration of that timer, the kiosk then redirects to a non-interactive Custom Page for Browsing Time Limit Reached to encourage them to walk away so another visitor can use the kiosk.

If the visitor walks away prior to the timer completing, the Idle Time Limit will reset for the next visitor session.

Note: This feature requires use of the Idle Time Limit feature to reset the kiosk.

Other Possible Values:

When used with Activation Mode, the Browsing Time Limit will not start until the kiosk leaves Activation Mode.

Custom Page for Browsing Time Limit Reached

Supported in:

Kiosk Pro Lite, Basic, Plus and Enterprise

Determines the web page that the visitor will be sent to once the Browsing Time Limit triggers. Touch gestures are disabled on this page, which encourages the current visitor to walk away.

Default Value: [empty]

When the Idle Time Limit triggers on this page, the app will refresh back to the homepage, where the next visitor can begin to use the kiosk.

When this setting is blank, Kiosk Pro will take the visitor to a default page with "Browsing Time Limit Reached" displayed in several languages (as seen below). If configured with a URL or local file path, the page specified will be displayed. (for URL format examples, see the Homepage article)

Since touch gestures are disabled on this page we recommend that your custom page makes it clear to the visitor that the page is non-interactive. An Idle Time Limit must be set to return the kiosk to a functional experience for the next visitor.
