Should I update the app &/or iOS?

In general once a kiosk is deployed and a stable configuration has been achieved, we do not recommend updating either the app or the iOS operating system if there is no pressing reason to do so. If you do choose to update the iOS/iPadOS operating system, we do generally recommend also updating the app at the same time.

You might consider updating if:

  • A new feature has been added to the app that you'd like to use.
  • You are adding additional devices to your deployment and want to keep all devices on the same version of iOS.
  • You are having a problem with the app (as the issue may have been resolved in a more recent update).

Before updating to a new version of Kiosk Pro or iOS/iPadOS, there are a few things to check:

Is there a known issue with the new version that will affect your kiosk? You can find a list of known issues here.  

Have you tested on a non-public device? As it is not possible to downgrade to previous versions after updating, we always recommend testing with your content and settings on a device that is not a part of your live deployment.
