Setting up a mail account on your device

If you use an email provider like iCloud, Google, or Yahoo, Mail can automatically set up your email account with just your email address and password.

In iOS 11 or later

  1. Open the device's Settings.
  2. Select Passwords & Accounts in the sidebar, then tap Add Account.
  3. Tap your email provider.
  4. Enter your email address and password.
  5. Tap Next and wait for Mail to verify your account. 
  6. Set Mail = On. (other toggles are optional) 
  7. Tap Save.

In iOS 10

  1. Open the device Settings.
  2. Select Mail in the sidebar, tap Accounts, tap Add Account.
  3. Tap your email provider.
  4. Enter your email address and password.
  5. Tap Next and wait for Mail to verify your account. 
  6. Set Mail = On. (other toggles are optional) 
  7. Tap Save.

In iOS 9

  1. Open the device Settings.
  2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars in the sidebar, then tap Add Account.
  3. Tap your email provider.
  4. Enter your email address and password.
  5. Tap Next and wait for Mail to verify your account. 
  6. Set Mail = On. (other toggles are optional) 
  7. Tap Save.
